On 17th March 2023, the University of London organized a memorable event in Islamabad, Pakistan, attended by nearly 300 alumni, students, partners, and friends.
The gathering featured distinguished alumni speakers Zahir Riaz, Rahat Kaunain Hassan, and Khadija Siddiqui, who shared their experiences and the impact of their University of London degrees on their personal and professional lives. Adrian Chadwick OBE, Regional Director South Asia at the British Council, praised the University's contributions to the region.
The event's honored guest, Senator Azam Nazir Tarrar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, spoke about the strong, long-standing relationship between the University of London and Pakistan, especially in legal education.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Mary Stiasny OBE, Head of Constituency Engagement Holly Peterson, and Head of Business Support Alex Boughton traveled from London for the event, accompanied by the University's Regional Advisor Saad Wasim. Professor Stiasny highlighted the University's deep-rooted ties with Pakistan and expressed gratitude to the local alumni and student community for their ongoing engagement.
The University of London boasts over 7,000 alumni in Pakistan and 22 Alumni Ambassadors. During her visit, Professor Stiasny also had the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
